There is no denying that employment is important. But in order to find that job, you need the skills and resources.
Our workshops are the first step toward gainful employment for our Day Labor members. We offer trade skills training and civic engagement workshops.
Trade Skills Training
Empowered with specialized skills, our members become valuable workers to employers. Not only do
they go out to work more often, but we have also found them more likely to find stable employment.
Tiling, painting, landscaping, construction, irrigation, and job safety are just some of the examples of
trade skills training that our men have received.
Civic Engagement
A skill without information is just a skill. But a skill with information is empowerment. Our civic
engagement workshops connect members with resources and information available in the community.
Legal issues, financial education, library services, health care, immigration, and public safety are just
some of the topics that the members learn about each week.
