Is Mechanics Bank a bank just for mechanics? And why are there clothes in a place called J&O Bank? Why do “we can” and “weekend” sound the same? What does “Not a through street” mean?

ESL classLet’s face it, the English language is pretty tricky. In our ESL classes, our members take on the challenge of learning English and figuring out the answers to these and many other questions.

With the audience of day laborers and job‐seekers, we focus on vocational English skills that will help them in work‐related situations. Our three levels allow members of any level to get in on the exciting learning. The small class size and enthusiastic teachers and tutors draw in students with fun lessons and special one-on-one attention to refine their skills.

As a completely volunteer‐driven effort, these ESL classes demonstrate the devotion and dedication of the community to the Chavez Center and the advancement of our entire community. Thank you all for your dedication and hard work.
