General Office Support
- Description: Answer phone calls, address questions about the Center, perform filing, tend to front desk, research and compile resources for the community, take inventory of facility needs, support staff in office projects as they arise.
- Times: Flexible schedule within regular business hours Mon‐Fri 8am to 5pm
- Requirements: Bilingual in English and Spanish, organized, able to multi‐task
ESL Teacher
- Description: Meet regularly with a class of 5 to 20 students to teach and practice English as a second language; with staff support develop activities, lesson plans, field trips and worksheets for class; ensure that each student is progressing and receiving the attention they need to succeed
- Times: Evenings Monday & Wednesday
- Requirements: Enthusiasm and a passion for serving the community, cultural sensitivity, and prior ESL experience. Bilingual skills not necessary
ESL Teacher Coach
- Description: Assist ESL teacher in tending to individual needs and challenges to ensure that each student understands and follows the lesson.
- Times: Mornings Tues‐Fri or Evenings Monday & Wednesday
- Requirements: Enthusiasm, patience, and cultural sensitivity. No Spanish skills or ESL experience necessary.
Computer Class Assistant
- Description: Assist teacher in providing individual support to computer class students so that each student progresses and follows the lesson.
- Times: Vary each quarter.
- Requirements: Understanding of technology and the programs being taught in the class. Must speak Spanish.
Media / Communications Assistant
- Description: Create, write, edit, and/or translate articles for bimonthly newsletters; interview staff and program participants as needed; research and compile information, data, and quotes as needed.
- Times: Flexibile schedule within regular business hours 8am to 5pm.
- Requirements: Passion for writing and interacting with the community; strong writing and proofreading skills; Spanish fluency is helpful, but not necessary.
Workshop Instructor
- Description: With staff support develop and lead a group of no more than 15 through a specific workshop or series of workshops in trade skills development. Areas might include skills such as carpentry, landscaping, painting, job safety, electrical, and more.
- Times: Mornings Mon‐Sat
- Requirements: Expertise in a trade skill. Ability to engage a group of students to learn the trade.
Business Mentor
- Description: Mentor a developing or established business to be success in their endeavor.
- Times: Flexible
- Requirements: Business experience.
