Host a Workshop
By providing space for a seminar or workshop, the Chavez Center is able to reach even more people through its programs.
Our workshops and presentations spread the Chavez Center mission beyond the Monument community, and bring transformation to the lives of residents across the Bay Area.
All you need to do is provide a venue, and we’ll bring our trained staff and members to present for you. In the past, we have reached out to the community through computer skills trainings, poverty education, and other informative discussions. At churches, community organizations, businesses, and clubs, our workshops have found a place among all types of people across the Bay Area.
We offer various workshops that may apply to your organization, the people you serve, or perhaps you yourself.
The topics we cover include:
Computer skills (Broadband Awareness & Adoption)
Update October 2011: The Broadband Awarness & Adoption initiative has come to a close. With a portable computer lab, the Chavez Center brought technology learning throughout Contra Costa County. The success of the program was tremendous and we hope to create a similar project in the future. Click the link to read about the sucess and our hopes for the future. >>Learn more.
Poverty, immigration, digital divide, and other related issues
The Monument community faces very unique obstacles to overcome. Through this workshop you can learn more about this diverse community, what they’re up against, and how we’re working to change that.
More coming soon!
